Founder of The College Investor, Robert Farrington is a noteworthy, influential blogger in the personal finance space with a six-figure online income. But he does this all on top of a full-time day job as a manager at a major retail store. When he’s out of the office, he’s working hard at his home office to grow his income and brand online. This is an interview you don’t want to miss!
What We’re Chatting About This Week
I’ve known Robert for years thanks to the annual FinCon conference, a major factor in my success as an online business owner. This week we have an informal chat about Robert’s online business and general personal finance. He suggests that side hustles are the best way to go, as you can bring in a big income on top of what you already earn!
I started Personal Profitability as a side hustle in October 2008, and as the site grew so did my opportunities to earn online. My side hustle income grew from $10 here and there to $25 consistently to $100+ per article to full-time job over the years since, but Robert is holding out. Even though he earns enough to comfortably leave his day job, he enjoys what he does both online and offline and plans to stick with both for the foreseeable future.
Speaking of income and expenses, we also chat about some investing and personal finance topics that anyone can use a refresher on, myself included!
