At the end of the month, Google Reader will be shutdown. I’ve been a Reader user for about seven years, so I am sad to see it go. A handful of you visit this site every day using Google Reader, so I want to share some options to keep getting your fix of Narrow Bridge Finance after Reader is shut down.
What is RSS?
RSS stands for “really simple syndication.” It is an online tool that allows news and blog style websites to be syndicated for delivery to other sites. A reader is a program, either desktop, mobile, or web based, that aggregates feeds from multiple sources into one place.
I have 48 sites that I want to read every day. I take the RSS feeds from those sites and aggregate them to red every new article in one place.
RSS feeds are usually represented by an orange icon like this. Because I write about money, I use a green logo. Gotta make lots of green!
In case you were wondering, the RSS feed for this site can be found at http://feeds.feedburner.com/narrowbridge.
The best way to get Narrow Bridge Finance updates is the email list. You can choose to get an email every time a new post is published (the best option) or to only get the Narrow Bridge Finance Free Money Tips newsletter.
All emails subscribers get the exclusive newsletter with tips not shared anywhere else. You can sign up for free here.
To replace Google Reader for my RSS feeds, I signed up for Feedly. The Feedly Cloud is a great replacement for anyone who likes reading online. It quickly and seamlessly imports from Google Reader. Just sign in with your Google account and it will automatically import everything from your old Reader account.
Other RSS Readers
Lots of other options exist. There is The Old Reader, which is a clone of an older version of the Google product. You can also try Newsblur, NetVibes, and Pulse. Each has a unique offering, some with their own mobile apps.
If you are a big time Facebooker or Twitterer, you can get your Narrow Bridge fix there too.

I Don’t Want to Lose You
At the end of the day, I just really hope we don’t have to break up because of something Google did. I love each one of you and want to bring you the best tips, ideas, and options to make managing your money easy and stress free.
